Funeral services for Illa Britton, 73, were held Monday, April 29, 1991, at 1 p.m. at the Platte Funeral Chapel in Wheatland, Wyo., with Pastor Delbert Dick of the American Missionary Fellowship officiating. Interment was in Prairie Rest Cemetery near Guernsey, Wyo.
Britton died Saturday, April 27, 1991, at Memorial Hospital of Laramie County in Cheyenne.
She was born Feb. 20, 1918, in Guernsey, the daughter of William James and Minnie May (Eversull) Keane. She was reared and educated and lived in the Guernsey-Glendo area. She was married to Howard Ernest Britton on March 29, 1937 in Harrison, Neb. She enjoyed crocheting, making crafts, and her grandchildren. She was affiliated with the American Missionary Fellowship
She is survived by six sons, Jim Britton of Hanna, Wyo., Bill Britton of Hartville, Don Britton of Wheatland, Ben Britton of Glendo, Dale Britton and Larry Britton, both of Gillette.; five daughters, Eve Carlson, Las Vegas, Nev., Laura Moore, Hartville, Linda Miller, Wheatland, Donna Harvey, Lance Creek, and Karen Montazeri of Hicksville, NY; two sisters, Rosetta Aylor of Tooele, Utah and Barbara Talk of Seattle, Wash.; 29 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Roberta Kay Brooks, three sisters, Ella Hazelwood, Pearl Warner and Dorothy June Keane; and six brothers, Lorne Keane, Warren Keane, Henry Keane, Robert Keane, Estel Keane, and Edward Keane.
Serving as pallbearers were Dennis Brooks, John Harvey, Larry Britton, Pat Moore, Herb Johnson and Majid Montazeri.
A memorial to the Glendo Volunteer Ambulance Fund would be equally appreciated by the family. The Platte Funeral Chapel of Wheatland was in charge of arrangements.
