Colorado Lady Is Accident Victim At Jay Em Thurs.
Mrs. A. H. Perry aged 65 of Brighton, Colorado, was fatally injured in an automobile accident near Jay Em, 23 miles south of Lusk on highway No. 85 shortly after noon on Wednesday, June 19th.
Ms. Perry was accompanying her husband, Alvin H. Perry, aged 68, the couple were enroute to their home following a visit with their daughter and other relatives at Moorcroft, Wyoming.
The couple were driving in a 1929 model Oakland sedan, at a speed estimated at 40 miles per hour. As they neared the corner at Jay Em the elderly gentleman evidently lost control of the car and it plunged over a 25 ft. embankment. The driver suffered a shoulder injury, broken ribs and numerous lacerations and bruises.
Mrs. Perry was thrown in such a manner as to have her ribs crushed and also suffered a possible fractured neck vertebrae. A Lusk doctor was called immediately, however, the lady passed away within 30 minutes after the accident. Patrolman Slagle of Torrington made an investigation of the accident, and took the injured driver to a Torrington hospital.
