Mrs. Leonard Ong Passes At Crawford

Mrs. Valusha Ong, wife of Leonard Ong of Lance Creek, passed away around noon yesterday (Wednesday), at a Crawford hospital where she was confined for many weeks. Mrs. Ong is well-known among Lusk residents, and Lance Creek folks, and her passing will be a source of deep regret among her many friends.

As we go to press, funeral services have not as yet been arranged but have been tentatively set for Sunday, June 4th.

Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Ong Sunday Afternoon

Mrs. Leonard Ong, popular young matron of Lance Creek was laid to rest in Lusk Cemetery Sunday afternoon.

Funeral services were held at the Peet Chapel at 2:00 p.m. and was attended by the entire chapter of the Mariposa Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. Officers of that chapter conferred the Eastern Star service and were very impressive in their long white gowns. Rev. P. H. Evans, of the First Baptist Church officiated.

A mixed quartet composed of Mr. J. M. Hungate, Mr. Ford B. Kuns, Mrs. C. E. Marvin and Mrs. Charles Hansen sang "It is Well With My Soul" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." Miss Alice Fowler accompanied at the piano.

The pallbearers were Leo Thompson, Ivan Maxwell, Claire McElkinney, Forest Vaughn, Ira Roth, Henry Nelson.

OBITUARY
Valucia Agatha Lee was born at Tyndall, S. D. on June 7th, 1904, daughter of George O. and Nellie Lee.

The Lee family came to Wyoming in 1815 and located near Manville and west of the present Lance Creek oil field. Valucia attended school at Manville and graduated from the Manville High School in 1922. She taught in several schools of the county for several years.

On August 4th, 1924 she was united in marriage to Leonard Ong of Lance Creek and has lived in that vicinity since.

After a lingering illness of several months, Mrs. Ong passed away in Crawford, Nebraska on May 31st, 1939. She is survived by her husband, her parents,Mr. and Mrs. George Lee and two brothers, Charles of Lance Creek and Fred now living in Oregon.

Mrs. Ong was a very popular and well loved woman among her acquaintances and was a Past Matron of the Eastern Star Order. Her passing will be mourned by her relatives and many loyal friends.
