Alice Sims Bartholme, wife of O. M. Bartholme and only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Sims, died at her home in Manville, Sunday morning December 1, after an illness of about a week during which time every possible effort was made to save her but in spite of all she gradually grew weaker and weaker until relieved by death.
Alice E. Sims was born in Woonsocket, South Dakota, on February 4th, 1887. She died at the home of her parents in Manville, Wyoming on Sunday morning December first.
When eight years of age she moved with her parents from Woonsocket, South Dakota to Western, Nebraska where she finished high school in 1905. After teaching school two years she attended the Peru State Normal where she graduated in 1909. She then moved with her parents to Manville where she taught in the public schools for two years.
She was married to O. M. Bartholme on June 24, 1915. To this union were born John Berne Bartholme and Ray B. Bartholme.
She joined the M. E. Church when she was fifteen years of age at Western, Nebraska. Two years ago her membership was transferred to the M. E. Church of Manville.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and two small sons, her mother and father and brother and a host of other relatives and friends.
The loving esteem in which Mrs. Bartholme was held is shown by the dark shadow of gloom cast over the entire community on news of her death.
The funeral services were held at the home on Monday afternoon, Rev. Franks officiating and burial was made in Dellview Cemetery. Austin & Elquist had charge of the funeral.
