A graveside service for Wayne Allen Sides, 66, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2011 at the Lusk Cemetery in Lusk, Wyo., with Reverend Mark Lohr officiating.

A wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at the Waterhole, Ninth and Richard Streets in Douglas, Wyo.

Wayne Sides a resident of Douglas died Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming.

He was born Nov. 13, 1944 in Lusk, Wyo. the son of Harry Allen and Mary Alice (Brunckhorst) Sides. He was raised and educated in Lusk, and graduated from the Lusk High School. He attended welding school in Milford, Nebraska. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked on various construction jobs, owned and operated a ranch south of Manville, Wyoming, and returned to the home ranch at Kirtley, Wyoming. He moved to Douglas, where he trained horses, shod horses, drove truck for Savage Trucking, and worked for Converse County Road and Bridge.

He was married to Connie Hauk, and two daughters, Toni and Terri, were born to this union. They were later divorced. He married Carla Dawn Curtis, and to this union a son, Curtis, was born. They also were divorced.

He was an avid pool player, playing in several tournaments including tournaments in Las Vegas. He also enjoyed playing cards, cribbage, and darts.

He is survived by his children, Curtis Sides, of Casper, Toni Sides of Texas, Terri Sugg of OK., and Brian Williams of Portland, Ore.; sisters, Connie F. Taylor and Marsha L. Henderson both of Douglas; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry, on Sept. 27, 1972 and mother, Mary, on April 29, 2004.

The Gorman Funeral Homes - Converse Chapel of Douglas is in charge of the arrangements.
