Fred Eastman Dies at Portland, Ore.
Fred E. Eastman, 87, former Douglas and Newcastle resident, and also known by many Lusk people, passed away at Portland, Oregon, May 25th, as the result of a broken hip.
The remains were sent to Douglas for interment.
The Eastmans lived in Douglas for a quarter of a century, until Mrs. Eastman's death in 1932. Mr. Eastman then went to Newcastle to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. Herbert Fowler.
Mrs. Fowler passed away a couple of years ago and he then moved to Portland, Oregon, to make his home with another daughter.
Surviving are two sons, Frederick of Peoria, Ill., and W. R. of Douglas; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Ellingsworth of Portland, Ore., and Pauline Carmin. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon, June 1, from the Hofman chapel, with Rev. Louis Gale of the Congregational Church in charge.
