Mrs. Gay Keller, Resident Here 35 Years, Dies Friday

Mrs. Gay Keller, 65, a resident of Lusk for the past 35 years, died at her home here Friday, Oct. 4, after being in poor health for the past several years.

Mrs. Keller was an active business woman of Lusk. She and her husband operated the first bakery in the town and later they went into the restaurant business and after her husband's death Mrs. Keller continued in this line of work until about six years ago she was forced to retire because of ill health.

Rose Gay Robinson, daughter of Rezin and Emma Robinson, was born at Anselmo, Nebr. On April 22,1881. She attended the public schools and grew to young womanhood in that vicinity.

She married George A. Keller at Merna, Nebr., and for several years they resided in that state where their two sons, Hubert and Arthur were born. In 1910 the family moved to Oelrichs, S. D. and the following year, 1911, came to Lusk where they have since made their home. Mr. Keller died December 31, 1934.

Funeral services for Mrs. Keller were held from the Peet Mortuary on Monday afternoon with Rev. Lawrence P. Juell, pastor of the Congregational Church officiating.

Mrs. Phyllis Johns and Miss Anita Vargason sang, "No Night There" and "Crossing the Bar." Mrs. J. P. Watson was the accompanist.

The remains were conducted to its last resting place by Jake Lorenzen, Joseph Kuhn, Clarence Simons, John Boatright, W. W. Milburn and R. I. Olinger.

Interment was made in the Lusk cemetery beside her husband.
