2 Aged Residents of Niobrara Die During Past Week
Two aged citizens of Niobrara County died the past week, Mrs. Carrie B. Lumsden, resident in the county for about 25 years, and LeRoy D. Webb, who came to the Lance Creek area in 1917.

LeRoy D. Webb, 83, died at the Manring Convalescent Home in Lusk on Friday, Feb. 15, 1946. Because of failing health Mr. Webb entered the Convalescent Home last summer.
Little is known of his early life, but in his young manhood he lived in Eastern Nebraska, where he was a skilled trainer of fine race horses. He later moved to Custer County, Nebraska, where he engaged in farming.
In 1917 he came to Niobrara County and has resided in the East Lance Creek neighborhood since that time. He was born in Page county, Iowa, June 17, 1862.
Surviving him is an aged sister in Custer County, Neb., and an older brother in Bellingham, Wash.
Funeral services were held from the Peet chapel at 2:30 on Sunday afternoon, with Rev. Lawrence P. Juell of the Congregational Church officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Ezra Duncan and Mrs. Emerson Bonner, who sang "In the Garden" and "Rock of Ages." Mrs. J. P. Watson was the accompanist.
The casket bearers were Alex Gunn, Gerhard Vick, Roy Maguire, Robert Marsh, O. P. Harnagel and Charles Blagg.
