Dr. James Hawley, 74, of Camden, Ark., died April 26, at the Quachita County Medical Center in Camden. Funeral services were April 29 at Proctor Funeral Home Chapel with Kay Moser officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Arkansas.
He was born Dec. 16, 1922, in Chicago. He was a graduate of Quachita Baptist University and the University of Arkansas Medical School. He was a Methodist, an Army veteran of WWII, and an avid outdoorsman. He practiced medicine in Camden for 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jimmie Dorris Hawley; and brothers Gene and George Hawley.
Survivors include wife Fay Hawley of Camden; son Dr. James W. Hawley, Jr., of Lusk; daughter Amy Hawley Dennis of Magnolia, Ark.; daughter-in-law Liza Hawley of Lusk; son-in-law Dickie Dennis of Magnolia; brothers Curtis Hawley of Laurel, Miss., and Dr. Harold Hawley of Little Rock, Ark.; grandson Charles Hawley Dennis of Magnolia; granddaughter Heather Hawley of Lusk.
