Wm. A. Holsapple

Wm. A. Holsapple was born December 4, 1854, at Albany, N.Y., and when four years old went to Canada where the family lived for some years. In 1880 he came west and settled in Cheyenne where he resided until the fall of 1887 when he became a citizen of Lusk and lived here almost a quarter of a century until his death, April 17, 1912, aged 57 years 4 months and 13 days. The immediate cause of his death was diabetes and dropsy. He leaves a widow and two sons to mourn his loss.

The funeral took place last Friday, a short Episcopal service being held at his late residence, the Rev. Robert Benedict, of Douglas, officiating. After this service was over the members of Custer Lodge, I.O.O.F., took charge of the remains, bearing them gently and lovingy to their Hall where the impressive funeral rites of the Oddfellows were conducted over their departed brother. Thence the cortege proceeded to Lusk cemetery where interment was made. A profusion of flowers and floral pieces testified to the esteem in which the deceased was held by those who knew him best.

A large number of friends of the family were present at the funeral and among those from a distance were Mrs. J. I. Hogle, Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Newcomb, Mr. and Mrs. Walter E. Cotton and Mr. Ivens, all of Crawford, Nebraska.
