Bert McCarthy, Former Lusk Resdient, Passes Away at Casper Home
Bert McCarthy, former resident of this city, and for a number of years employed by the former Snyder Mercantile company here, died suddenly at his home in Casper last Saturday afternoon, his passing due to a heart attack. Mr. McCarthy had been beating some rugs and doing other miscellaneous work about his home when stricken at about 3:30 o'clock. Death occurred an hour and a half later.
He had been a resident of Wyoming for almost 30 years locating first near this city. He left with his family in 1915 and went to Casper, where he with his family has since resided. Mr. McCarthy was employed in several of Casper's stores before he became connected with the Paxton-Gallagher company, which position he held at the time of his death.
Mr. McCarthy was a widely known business man, and had many friends over the state. He was a member of Harmony Lodge NO. 24, A.F. & A.M. of this city, and of the Eastern Star lodge of Casper.
Surviving besides his wife, Mrs. Jeanette McCarthy, are two daughters, Ladora and Jeanette. His mother and grandmother also survive. Mr. McCarthy would have been 52 years old next month.
