Mrs. Frank Smith Dies Friday of Heart Condition

Mrs. Frank M. Smith, 87, long a resident of Niobrara County, died November 12 at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital of chronic heart trouble.

Ragna Otilda Smith was born in Oslo, Norway, August 28, 1867, the daughter of Otto and Julia Olsen Sorensen. when she was fourteen years old the family came to America locating in Alta, iowa.

In 1892 she was married in Chicago to Ernest Wagner. Two daughters were born. Mrs. Wagner died in 1901. She continued making her home in Chicago for a time and then returned to Alta.

In November 1911, she was married to Frank M. Smith at Benson, Minn. In 1913 Mr. and Mrs. Smith and the two girls, Emma and Ruth, came to Wyoming, making their home south of Keeline. In recent years they have lived in Lusk.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Vern Hulbert of Twin Falls, Idaho; three granddaughters, Mrs. Jerry Hollon of Lusk, Mrs. Claude Brown and Mickey Hulbert of Twin Falls; one grandson, Mel Hulbert of Boise, Idaho and nine great grandchildren.

Also surviving are four sisters: Mrs. Marie Carlson of Owatonna, Minn., Mrs. Jennie Smith of Wheatland; Mrs. Mamie Stensland of Chicago; Mrs. Nora Johnson of Willmar, Minn; and three brothers: Oscar, Hanry and Louis Sorensen of Murdock, Minn. One daughter, Mrs. Emma Hoblit, and one sister, Mrs. Helen Smith, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held November 15 at 3:00 p.m. at the Peet Chapel with Rev. Jacob Nein officiating. Mrs. Otha Holcomb and Mrs. Carl Peterson sang "Rock of Ages" and "I Won't Have to Cross Jordan Alone," accompanied by Mrs. J. P. Watson at the organ.

Pallbearers were: James Hoblit, Dan Smith, James Smith, Bill Hoblit, James Payne and Fred Smith. Interment was in the Lusk cemetery with the Peet Mortuary in charge.
