Rodney Eugene Ross
Rodney Eugene Ross was born June 9, 1955 to Robert and Nellie Ross in Versailles, Mo. He went to be with Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior on July 18, 2010 in Rapid City, SD surrounded by his family.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010 at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds auditorium in Lusk, Wyoming.
He is survived by his wife, Randi; daughters, Lisa and Lindsey and grandchildren Braedyn, Kirra and Rhyland. He is also survived by two sisters and three brothers, several nieces and nephews; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; his mother-in-law as well as a multitude of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Rodney proudly served his country in the United States Navy for over twenty years retiring in 1995 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. Because of his naval career he was able to visit every continent in the world except Antarctica. At the time of his death, Mr. Ross was employed as the Unit Assistant at the Wyoming Women's Center; a second career he loved. He felt he was able to make a positive impact in the lives of the inmates because of his strong faith and values system.
He was a member of the Niobrara County Library Board and Foundation. He was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God and New Life Assembly of God churches in Laramie, where he previously served on the boards of each. He attended Crossroad Ministries and the First Baptist Church in Lusk.
He loved God, his country and his family, and he served them all with the same integrity and honor. He touched many lives and all who know him will remember him as a friend. To Rodney a stranger was just a friend that he hadn't met yet.

Pier Funeral Home in Lusk is in charge of arrangements.
