Funeral for Dennis Charles Johnson, office manager for the A.S.C.S. office at Harrison for about 20 years, was held at 2 p.m. February 11 in the United Methodist Church at Henry with the Rev. Nora Leeds officiating. Burial was in the Forrest Lawn Cemetery at Morrill with graveside Masonic rites by Oasis Lodge No. 271 AF&AM at Morrill. Jones Mortuary of Mitchell was in charge of arrangements.
Johnson, 76, of 1905 Ave. K. Scottsbluff, died at his home on Monday, Feb. 9. He was born May 9, 1904, at Nevada, Mo., and received his early education at Clyde, Kan. He married Evelyn Moomey July 12, 1925. The couple moved to Gering in 1928 and then to the Sheep Creek area north of Henry, where he farmed. He retired about four years ago and they moved to Scottsbluff.
He was a member of the Oasis Lodge and of the church where he had been Sunday School superintendent and a lay leader.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Mrs. Roberta Rincker of Prosser, Wash., Mrs. Vivian Lillie of Homedale, Idaho, and Mrs. Donna Clark of Mitchell; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
A memorial has been established to the church.
