Mrs. Len Christian Dies Suddenly of Stroke Sunday

The sudden death of Mrs. Leonard F. Christian on Sunday, October 1, came as a shock to her host of friends.

The Christians had recently purchased the residence of Mrs. Lena Henry and were moving into their new home on Saturday, when Mrs. Christian suffered a paralytic attack in the afternoon and was taken to the Spencer Hospital, where she passed away that night.

Mrs. Christian had been in poor health for several years and it was on her account that Mr. Christian was moving to town.

She was the former Flora E. Cutter, daughter of Henry A. and Mary Isabel Cutter, born April 6, 1886, in Altamont, Ill. Later the family moved to Kansas and then to Missouri, and she attended school in Eureka, Kansas, and Sedalla Missouri, and graduated from the Westport High School in Kansas City, Mo.

At the age of 19 she came to Wyoming, teaching the schools at Pine Knot, Box Elder and Pleasant Ridge. Here she met and married a young rancher, Leonard F. Christian, the wedding taking place July 6, 1908, and together they faced the joys and hardships of building a home on the Wyoming prairies. They chose the site for their ranch on Brush Creek, some 25 miles north of Lusk, and it has become one of the finest ranches in the country. Here their three daughters were born and spent their childhood.

Funeral services were held from the Peet Chapel on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. Louis Gale, pastor of the Congregational Church of Douglas, was in charge of the service.

Miss Betty Allender sang "Abide With Me" and Rev. Paul Hoover sang "Goodnight Here, Good Morning Up There." Mrs. Lester Meade was organist.

The casket bearers were Dan Hansen, Lester Meade, Clair Rice, W. D. Miller, Bunny Chard and John Lorenzen.

Interment was made in the Lusk cemetery.

Surviving are her husband, her daughters - Gladys Hagerman, Garnet Lohr and Cathrine Christian, and three sisters, Mrs. Lena McGruder of Los Angeles, Mrs. Laura Benham of Toledo and Mrs. Fred H. Fox of Milwaukee.
