Newton Fulton "Bub" Hester Jr.

A funeral service for Newton Fulton "Bub" Hester Jr. was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 26, 2010, at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds Auditorium in Lusk, Wyo., with Pastor Tom Strock and Father Felix Sevilla Martinito Jr. officiating. Interment followed at 3:30 p.m. in the Wheatland Cemetery at Wheatland, Wyoming.

He died Monday, April 19, 2010, at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyo.

Newton was born March 23, 1937, in Long Beach, Calif., the son of N. Fulton and Maesel E. (Watson) Hester. He was reared and educated in Cheyenne, Glendo, and Wheatland; graduating from Wheatland High School in 1955. He attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins and Boise Community College in Boise, Idaho. On Dec. 27, 1960, he married Ann M. Johnson in San Diego, California. Newton worked road construction for a few years before joining in his father's ranching-farming operation at Keeline, an endeavor he was involved in until the time of his death. Newton was a member of the Cowboy Joe Club and a past member of the Wyoming Stockgrower's. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, watching basketball, and being involved with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Ann of Keeline; two sons, John (Sheri) Hester of Keeline and Wade (Rachelle) Hester of Ogden, Utah; a sister, Irma (John) Baker of Chugwater, Wyo.; and eight grandchildren: Hayden and Drew Hester of Keeline, Raeganne, Tayler, and Presley Hester of Ogden, Zach (Laura) Milke of Durango, Colo., Joe (Kelli) Milke and Sarah (Rory) Scott both of Greeley, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Kathy Street.
