George Smith Dies at Ranch Home Friday
George Albion Smith, resident of Wyoming for the past 28 years, died at his ranch home 25 miles south of Manville Friday. At the time of his death Mr. Smith was 69.
The deceased was born Apr. 11, 1884 in Fairbury, Nebr., the son of Frank and Rosetta Smith. Most of his youth was spent in Nebraska working on various ranches He came to Wyoing in 1926, after he had lost one of his hands, and learned the blacksmith trade.
In March of 1930 he married Lora Smith and they settled on a ranch 19 miles north of Guernsey which they later bought. A nephew, Gene, lived with them from the time he was 9 days old.
Survivors include his wife, Lora, his nephew, Gene, who is stationed with the Army in Germany; a sister, Mrs. Zilma Bryson of Alliance, and two brothers, Frank of Steilacoom, Wash., and Fred who lives near the Smith ranch.
Funeral services were held in Guernsey Monday afternoon. Atending the services from Lusk were Mr. and Mrs. C A. Whelan and L. J. Bass.
