Mrs. E. O. Kint Dies in Lusk Sun. From Heart Attack

Mrs. E. O. Kint, 77, and a resident of Niobrara County for nearly 40 years, died at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital Monday, Nov. 16, at 4:20 p.m. from the effects of a heart attack suffered the past week.

Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Kint have resided in the Royal Valley community since coming to Wyoming more than 39 years ago and have taken an active part in the life of that community during all the years that they have lived there.

Augusta Hannah Hering was born Mar. 2, 1876 at La Platte, Nebr., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Hering and was the eldest of eight children. At the age of one year she moved to Royal, Nebr., where she received her education and later taught in the schools.

On Dec. 23, 1896, she was married to E. O. Kint of Oelwein, Ia. at the home of her parents, near Royal. They made their home at Royal for 12 years. It was here that they lost a child and later adopted a little girl, now Mrs. Roger Cowell of Lusk.

Several families of this community decided to look for a new location in which to make their homes so (they) fitted out covered wagons and drove as far as Pueblo, Colo. It took seven weeks to make the trip and they encountered many hardships on the way; however, the Kints did not remain there.

In 1914 they moved to Wyoming and located on a homestead nine miles south of Lusk, and because this community became settled by many people from Royal, Nebr., it was given the name of Royal Valley.

In 1946 Mr. and Mrs. Kint celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with an "open house" at their ranch home.

Besides her infant daughter, preceding her in death were her parents, one brother and two sisters. Survivors include her husband and her daughter, Mrs. Roger Cowell, two sisters, Mrs. Stella Sparks and Mrs. Bertha Lytle of California, and two brothers, Roy Hering of Royal, Nebr., George Hering of Bozeman, Mont., and three granddaughters, Mrs. Bertilla Jones of the Bright community, Faye and Donnabelle Cowell of the home ranch and one great grandson, Brad Jones, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Peet Chapel Thursday afternoon, Nov. 19, at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. Jacob Nein, pastor of the Congregational Church, will officiate. Music will be furnished by Mrs. H. J. Templeton and Mrs. A. F. DeCastro with Mrs. J. P. Watson as the accompanist.

Interment will be made in the Lusk Cemetery and the following longtime friends will carry the remains to its last resting place: Stanley Hoy, Floyd McLain, John Peterson, Roy McLain, Floyd Simon and Walter Tyrrel.
