Louise Cates

Services for Louise Cates, former Lusk resident, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov 26, in the Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk with Rev. Allen Kallenbach officiating. Burial followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Cates died Friday, Nov. 22, in Aurora, Colo. She was born in Fosston, Minn., and lived there until moving to Lusk, Wyo., at an early age. She attended school in Lusk and graduated from Lusk High School. She received her degree in elementary education from the University of Wyoming where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta social sorority. She taught in the Lusk schools a short while, later going into the hotel business with her husband, Glen, who preceded her in death in 1974. In 1988, she moved to Grand Junction, Colo., to be near her son, Bob. Then in August 1990, she moved to Denver.

She was a member of Chapter C. P. E. O. in Cheyenne and was a past president of Chapter I in Lusk. She was also a member of the Cheyenne Country Club and the Order of Eastern Star and Lusk Congregational Church.

Survivors include her son Robert of Littleton, Colo.; three grandchildren, Linda Dudley and Lana Rucker of Denver, and Gary Cates of Fort Collins, Colo.

For those who want, memorials to the Martin Luther Home, 401 Greenvale, Fort Collins, Colo. 80525, in care of the Louise Cates Memorial, will be appreciated by the family.
