Betty "Pat" Ruth Madvig
Betty Ruth "Pat" Madvig
Pat was born September 29, 1940 in El Monte, Calif., to Frank Walter Gales and Janis Mae Walker Gales. She met and married Peter Christian Madvig in her parents' home in September 1957 and was the proud parent of five children. She died June 13, 2009, in Springfield, Mo. after a brief illness.
Through her lifetime she enjoyed her work as a nurses aide, especially when she was privileged enough to work in pediatrics. During recent years she volunteered her time to the "New to You" store in Buffalo, Mo. and was nominated as a 2008 Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Nominee because of her contributions to the OACAC and the Ozarks community.
Pat was disabled in January 1981, as the result of an on the job injury, that forever limited her physical activities, but she continued to love life. She enjoyed reading, movies, cross-stitching, and her pets; and was often seen "cruising the strip" in her scooter. She and her husband Pete lived in Lusk for several years prior to moving to Missouri in 1999.
She is proceeded in death by her mother, father, and one brother. She is survived by her husband, Peter C. Madvig (Buffalo, Mo.), one brother Wayne Gales (Florida) children: Donna and David Geho (Glenrock, Wyo.), David and Bernice Madvig (Lusk, Wyo.), Dianna Madvig (Casper, Wyo.), Dennis and Sam.
