Dr. John E. Hawthorn Dies in California
Word has been received here by Mrs. Bill Hodgson of the death of John E. Hawthorn on March 4 at his home in Pamona, Calif. Dr. Hawthorn was a dentist in Lusk around 1919. He is a brother-in-law of Ray Marks of Glenrock and an uncle of Mrs. Hodgson. He was 83 years old.

Former Lusk Dentist Dies in California
Dr. John E. Hawthorne, 85, former Lusk dentist, died at his home in Pamona, Calif., Mar. 4, according to word received by The Herald from Mrs. Hawthorne.
The Hawthorne family resided in Lusk for many years where the doctor conducted a dental office and also became interested in the oil game during the years that the Lance Creek field was first brought into production.
Services were conducted Friday, Mar. 6, and interment was in the Pamona Cemetery.
Dr. Hawthorne was born Mar. 10, 1868 and is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
