Thelma Mae Finney
Baby Strangles To Death While Parents Absent
Deep sorrow surrounds the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Finney, who reside about 20 miles south of this city, today. Their tiny baby daughter, Thelma Mae, six months old, was found in the house early this forenoon, dead from strangulation.
The parents had gone out of the house together to do the chores, and had left the infant child in her bed, which was placed close alongside of another bed. Other children had gone to school. In some manner the little girl had crawled to the edge of her bed and fallen between the two steads, catching the body in such a way as to hold it and strangle the child.
The sight which lay before the parents when they returned to the house was a sad one, and Mrs. Finney is almost prostrated from the shock.
George Earl Peet of the Peet mortuary of this city was sent for immediately and he will have charge of funeral arrangements.
Services will be held at the Jay Em hall, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The remains will be interred in the Jay Em Cemetery.
