Funeral services for Chad Edward Louis Heck, 28, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at the Fort Reno Building on the Wyoming State Fairgrounds in Douglas, Wyoming with Pastor Dan Hickman officiating.
Interment and military rites will be at the Oregon Trail State Veterans' Cemetery in Evansville, Wyoming at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 18, 2009 with Chaplain Robert Peterson. A reception will follow at First Christian Church, 520 CY Avenue, Casper, Wyoming.
Chad Heck a resident of Douglas died Monday, March 9, 2009 at his home.
He was born December 23, 1980 in Casper, Wyoming the son of Raylan James and Teresa Ann (Williams) Heck. He was reared and educated in Douglas, graduating from the Douglas High School in 1999. He worked as a ranch hand on several ranches prior to joining the United States Army on February 22, 2001 with the Military Police. He served in Afghanistan and Iraq, and was discharged on February 21, 2009. He was working at the Antelope Coal Mine as a truck driver at the time of his death. He was on the wrestling team in school. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, riding his motorcycle, watching movies, working on cars, especially his '57 Chevy, and hanging out with his friends and family. He was very devoted to his family, especially his sisters.
He is survived by his father, Raylan (Tammy) Heck of Casper; brother, Raylan J. "RJ" (Joanne) Heck and their daughter, Emma of Crestview, Florida; sisters, Melissa and Jessica Heck both of Casper; step-sisters, Mandy Reisener and Kristen Noel both of Greeley, Colorado; paternal grandparents, Robert and Margaret Heck of Casper; maternal grandparents, Gerald and Rose Williams of Casper; aunts and uncles, Kay (Bob) Rosenberger of Wellington, Colorado, Carol Williams of Casper, Jerry (Shelly) Williams of Casper, Nancy (Glenn) Halsey of Laramie, Wyoming, and Brice (Yugie) Heck of Laramie; and numerous cousins and their families and his friends.
He died along with his mother and step-father, Teresa and Joe Noel. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Chad E.L. Heck Memorial Fund in care of Converse County Bank, P.O. Box 689, Douglas, Wyoming 82633.
Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Ulibarri, Tony Beier, John Kessler, Wes Hineman, Brice Heck, and Chris Hickman.
Gorman Funeral Home - Converse Chapel of Douglas is in charge of the arrangements.
