David Corydon Petty

David Corydon Petty was born in Morgan County, Ohio, Jan. 17, 1846. When a years old his parents moved to Rock Island county, Ills., where they lived for 12 years. He then moved to Johnson county, Iowa, living there 4 years and in 1871 he went to Crawford county, Iowa, where he was married to Martha Jane Day, Sept. 15, 1872. Five children were born to them, two dying in infancy. In 1899 they came to Cedar county, Nebr., where they lived for about 8 years, when they moved to Wyoming where Mr. Petty died April 12, 1913. There are left to mourn his loss, his widow and three children, James of this place and Charles and Mrs. Lydia Manly of Laurel Nebr., besides a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the W.O.W. hall at Kirley, Rev. Carter of Harrison officiating. A very large number of friends followed the remains to their last resting place in Pleasant Ridge cemetery. The family have the sympathy of all.
