Ronald L. Bruns died Aug. 30, 2003, while on a hunting-camping trip north of Dunton, Colo.
Ron Bruns was born Nov. 7, 1948, to Wayne D. and Phyllis M. Bruns in Rushville, Neb.
He married Judi Gottier on April 19, 1969.
Ron spent 11 years with a Kansas Nebraska Company, and during that time spent seven years in Lusk, before he and Judi pruchased a hardware store in Belle Fourche, S.D.
After five years they sold the store and Ron accepted a position as assistant manager with Gambles in Cortez, Colo. In 1991 they moved to California, and then to Colorado. He owned and operated Muleshoe Woodworks for the last nine years, providing ceramic tile hearth pads for free standing stoves.
He is survived by his wife Judi; daghters Mindy Irvin of Ariz.; four grandchildren; his mother, Phyllis Bruns and grandmother Opal Parks, of Rushville, Neb.; brother Loren Bruns of Choctaw, Okla.; sister Marilyn Schumacher of Chadron, Neb.
He was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents, Daniel and Delia Bruns; and maternal grandfather, John Parks.
A memorial fund has been established in his name at Citizens State Bank of Cortez, Colo.
