Ora "Doc" D. Lay
Ora D. "Doc" Lay died Sunday, Nov. 17, 1985, of a massive heart attack at his home in Douglas. He was 59.
One of 10 children, Mr. Lay was born June 15, 1926, in Goshen County, to O.D. and Grace Lay. He spent all his life living and working on ranches.
He married Bonnie Jean Riley Dec. 31, 1946, at Hot Springs, S.D.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Douglas; daughters, Virginia Stephenson of Gillette and Shelly Kellogg of Witchita, Kan.; sons, Ron of Lander, Larry of Riverton and Bryan of Wheatland; 11 grandchildren, five sisters and one brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers.
For those who wish, memorials to the American Diabetes Assocation will be appreciated by the family.
Memorial services were held Nov. 21 at Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk. The Rev. Carl Steinle officiated. Burial was in Harrison Cemetery.
