Gladys Rock
Wyoming pioneer Gladys Rock dies
The funeral for Wyoming pioneer Gladys C. Rock was held Monday at the Community Baptist Church in Glenrock, with the Rev. Lee Fox officiating. Burial was in the Glenrock Cemetery.
Mrs. Rock died Feb. 2 at her home in Glenrock following a long illness.
She was born Jan. 8, 1898 in the Netherlands. The family moved to Wyoming in 1907 and lived on the original Rawhide Ranch, south of Lingle.
On June 9, 1923, she married B. G. Rock at Scottsbluff, Neb., and they moved to Glenrock in 1933, where her husband was principal of the elementary school.
Survivors are her husband, B. G. Rock Sr. of Glenrock, one daughter, Gara June champion of Sault Sainte Marie, Mich., and one son, Byron G. Rock Jr. of Casper.
Mr. and Mrs. Rock have visited in Lusk many times. Rock is the brother of Mrs. C. E. Marvin.
