Larry Stanley Krein
Funeral services for Larry Stanley Krein, age 59, were held Nov. 18, 2008, at Pier Funeral Home in Lusk, with Pastor Tom Strock officiating, with burial in the Lusk cemetery.
Larry was born to Gust and Alma Krein on Jan. 25, 1949 at his grandparents' home in Tuttle, N.D., the sixth of twelve children. He passed away of an apparent heart attack on Nov. 13, 2008 in Miles City, Mont.
His early years were spent on the family farm south of Tuttle. Larry attended Chestina Country School from grades first through fifth. His sixth and eighth grade years were in Tuttle. He worked for Harold Wahl during the summer.
In July 1962 the family moved to Terry, Mont. where Larry's dad worked construction. The family moved around with construction until Dec. 1963 when they settled in Lusk, Wyo. Larry, along with his father, brothers, and sisters, worked for Kilmer Dairy. Larry, along with one sister or brother would deliver milk to residents' homes beginning at 5 a.m. After school he would work in the creamery.
Larry worked for Harry and Mary Sides doing ranch work. Like Connie, Wayne, Marsh, and their children, Larry was treated like family.
Larry attended Niobrara County High School until the spring of 1967. In Sept. of 1967 Larry enlisted in the US Army. He was sent to Fort Hood, Texas for basic training. After basics, he went to Korea. He served until receiving an honorable discharge Sept. 1970. After the military he moved to Neb. In 1976 Larry moved to Riverton, Wyo. He worked for the Riverton School District for twenty years, retiring in 1996. After that he went to work for Star Trucking. He worked there until 2006.
Larry and his best friend, Sandi Potter, moved from Riverton to Worden, Mont. in 2006. In 2007 he worked for Kuck Construction and in 2008 for Prince Inc. He was working there at the time of his death.
Larry was a very pleasant person to be with. No one was a stranger, and he befriended many people. Larry leaves behind many beloved friends and relatives.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Gust and Alma Krein; and two brothers, Lester and Darvin Krein.
He is survived by four brothers and five sisters: Leola (Nick) Morrell of Torrington, Wyo.; Lila Owren of Rawlins, Wyo.; Wanda Brown, Karen Jassman, and Kathy (Steve) Wedemeyer all of Lusk, Wyo.; Gary (Judy) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Darold (Patty) of Pierre, S.D.; Johnny and Dwight (Shelly) of Lusk, Wyo.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is also survived by his Montana family; Sandi, his best friend, and her family.
Pier Funeral Home in Lusk was in charge of arrangements.

Larry died of an apparent heart attack while at work for Prince Construction at Moon Creek, Montana.
He is missed so much by both his Worden and Billings, Mont. family; Sandi Potter, the love of his life; Tom and Kari Reiter (Skylar, Chase, Trenton and Dalton); Rob and Tura Thon (Dallas, Sissy, Bucky and his bestest friend and buddy, Lacey Thon), Jason Sanchez and Dexter and Kabrina Thon; also his very special little friends Cloie and Kaya; Evelyn and Tom Potter and Francey Lewison. He was such a kind and caring person. Larry had finally found his place in life. He and Sandi moved to Montana from Riverton, Wyo. two years ago and he made Worden, Mont. his home.
Sandi's family became his family. He had many, many friends. No one was a stranger to him. He loved life and people. Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008.
I miss you, Larry, more than anyone can know. We will meet again one day. Love--Sandi
