Ira Leroy Beard
I.L. BEARD PASSES AWAY HERE MONDAY
Old And Respected Citizen Succumbs From Extended Illness
The Lusk community and neighbors of the I. L. Beard family were shocked when the word went around Monday evening of the passing of Mr. Beard at his ranch home, five miles north of Lusk.
Mrs. Beard just left the past week to visit their daughter, Mrs. Harvey Poole and family at Dunning, Nebr., and Mr. Beard was apparently well when his son Roy, left about noon to go to a neighbors to help get out some timber. When Roy returned in the late afternoon he found his father lying in a back entry unconscious but due to the fact that the water was still hot in the teakettle it is thought he had not been lying there a great while.
Roy got his father into the house and summoned Dr. Murphy, but life was extinct before the doctor arrived. Mr. Beard suffered a stroke nearly three years ago and his death was evidently due to another one.
Mr. and Mrs. Beard and son, Roy, came to Wyoming 16 years ago this fall, from Waterbury, Nebr., where Mr. Beard had been engaged in the implement industry and since coming to Wyoming he has followed the ranching and stock-raising business.
Mrs. Beard accompanied by her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Poole, arrived in Lusk on Wednesday from Dunning, Nebr.
Funeral services were held at the Peet Mortuary Thursday afternoon at two o'clock with Rev. Irwin o f the Congregational Church officiating. I. L. Beard passed away Monday, Nov. 14, at is home north of Lusk. He is survived by his wife and a son, Roy, of the home ranch and a a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Poole, of Dunning, Nebr. Funeral services were held from the Peet Mortuary, with Rev. Irwin of the Congregational Church officiating.
