Fred G. Branney
Fred G. Branney, formerly of Lusk, died Aug. 15 in the Big Horn Mountains.
He was born Oct. 17, 1926 in Pueblo, Colo. and moved to Casper at an early age. He graduated from Natrona County high School in 1945 and entered the Marine Corps.
He married Audrey Long on Dec. 10, 1947 in Casper. While in Casper he was associated with the Wyoming Distributing Company. He moved to Lusk in 1962 and was in business for 13 years. He moved from Lusk to Sheridan in 1975 and owned and operated the Dairy Queen until 1980.
He was a member of the American Legion and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frances Branney and brother Lt. John Branney, Jr., who was killed during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey, Sheridan; a son, John of Ft. Morgan, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Barbara) Austin, Cheyenne, and Mrs. Sam (Beth) Miller, Sheridan; a brother, Joseph of Denver Colo., and five grandchildren.
Cremation has been held.
