Mrs. Fances Nutt Dies Saturday
Mrs. Frances Nutt, a resident of Lusk for the past 34 years, died at the Spencer hospital, Saturday morning, March 29, after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Nutt was born Sept. 14, 1883 in Putman county, Kansas. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Verna Crayne of Hermosa Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Edna Huntington of Kansas City, Mo., and a granddaughter, Georgia Mandis of Cheyenne. Her husband, Hugh Nutt died a few years ago and is buried at Indianola, Iowa, where the deceased was sent for interment.
Funeral services were conducted from the Peet Chapel on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 with Mrs. H.J. Templeton and Miss Phyllis Johns singing accompanied at the chapel organ by Donald Keys. The Rev. Jacob Nein, pastor of the Congregational church officiated.
Mrs. Nutt had been a long time member of the Congregational church. She was a past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and a past Noble Grand of the Rebekah lodge. Members of both orders attended the funeral services in a group.
Preceding her in death were her son Harry and her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Mandis. Her son-in-law Louis Mandis was here from Cheyenne for the services, after which the body was shipped to Iowa.
