Lloyd Rice Killed Near Torrington
Lloyd Rice, 62, of Lingle and former resident of the Rawhide Butte community, was crushed to death Saturday morning when he was trapped between his truck and a cattle loading chute on the Will Eisenbarth farm located northeast of Torrington.
Rice had parked his truck near the chute and had gotten out to remove some boards from the chute when the truck rolled backward pinning him against the chute.
There were no witnesses to the accident. He was discovered about 10 a.m. by Mr. Eisenbarth and Elmer Burkhart, and was grasping a hammer in his hand.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church with burial in Valley View cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Edna; two sons, Arthur and Galen; three brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter.
