Mrs. McCluskey Dies at Denver
Mrs. Day McCluskey, wife of Harry E. McCluskey of Manville, died in a Denver hospital Sunday, Sept. 9, after a brief illness of two weeks duration. Upon becoming ill she was rushed to Denver where little hope for her recovery was held out from the first.
The body was brought back to Lusk where funeral services were conducted from the Peet Chapel Wednesday afternoon at 2:30.
The Eastern Star funeral service was held at the chapel with Rev. Jacob Nein, pastor of the Congregational Church, giving the preliminary service and those at the graveside.
"Nearer My God to Thee" and "In The Garden" were sung by a quartet composed of Juanita Cork, Mary Agnes Laverty, Marlene James and Barbara Windom. Mrs. A. F. DeCastro played the chapel organ.
The bearers were E. M. Criss, E. L. McKnight, Glen Willson, A. B. Mills, P. P. Brown, and C. E. Marvin.
Eudocia Day Dull was born in Rockford, Ohio, the daughter of Melissa and Delbert Dull. She graduated from Rockford High School and attended Oberlin College and later taught school in Ohio, Idaho and Nebraska.
In 1914 she married Harry E. McCluskey at Broken Bow, Nebr. One child was born to them and passed away in infancy Nov. 25, 1921.
Mrs. McCluskey had a wide circle of friends and was active in many civic organizationa. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors and Eastern Star, also the Divide Tumbleweed Club. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Her father and one brother, Floyd, and a sister, Mrs. C. N. Rogers, preceded her in death. The survivors include her husband of the family home in Manville, her mother, Mrs. Melissa Dull; one sister, Mrs. Foster Jackson, and one brother, Jerry Dull, all of Lusk.
