Final Rites Held For William Marking in Ore.
Funeral services were conducted July 17 in Portland, Ore. for William Marking, 69, who died July 13 in a Portland hospital after being in failing health for the past two years. Mr. Marking was an uncle of Lloyd Schaefer and father of Mrs. Joe Kane, who resides west of Edgemont.
Mr. Marking formerly owned the ranch now known as the Tom Rennard ranch, which is located across the state line in Wyoming. Later, he moved to Edgemont, where he served as city marshal. He later entered business in Edgemont but moved seven years ago with his family to the west coast.
He is survived by nine children, 22 grandchildren and other relatives.
