Bert Howard, Former Lusk Man, Dies in Nebr.
A. T. "Bert" Howard, 58, a former business man of Lusk died at his home in Scottsbluff, Nebr., May 15. Although he suffered from a heart condition the ailment was not considered serious and he had worked in his office on Monday and died sudden1y the following morning.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard and a small son, Bill, lived in Lusk for several years where Mr. Howard was in cbsrge of the Continental bulk station. They left about 1926 and moved to Soottsbluff, where they went into the greenhouse business. After moving to Nebraska Mr. Howard became prominent in the Republican politics of the state and served as Nebraska GOP state chairman for a number of years. He was also mayor of Scottsbluff for a number of years.
Before coming to Lusk Mr. Howard operated businesses in Glendo and Thermopolis.
He is survived by his wife, mother, and his son who lives in Washington. D.C., also two brothers and four sisters.
