Memorial services for Mary Lou Bower, 41, of Worland and formerly of Lusk were held at Worland Middle School Auditorium with Michael Shank of the Church of Christ officiating.
She and her husband, Charles Bower, both died Wednesday, Apr. 10, 1986 in an airplane crash in Goshen County. Mary Lou was born on Apr. 17, 1944 in Deadwood, SD, a daughter of G. L. Copeland and Mary Worley.
Mary Lou lived in Lusk from 1960 to 1962, graduating from Niobrara County High School in 1962. She married Charles L. Bower on July 11, 1968 in Worland.
An active member of the Church of Christ of Worland, she was a Sunday school teacher and Bible study leader. She was chairman of the Meals on Wheels program and a past organizer of the Make-It-Yourself with wood contest. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and Republican Women's Club. An avid reader, her hobbies included needlework and handicrafts.
Survivors include two sons, Cory W. and Troy A. Bower of Worland; her mother, Mary Worley; stepfather A. J. Worley; and stepmother, Ruth Copeland. She is also survived by a brother, Hubert W. Copeland of Las Vegas, NV; three stepbrothers, Lloyd Worley of Worland, Jon Burnham of Lusk, and Floyd Worley of Wasilla, Alaska; and three stepsisters, Sue Cross, Janice Edwards and Dana Vineyard.
Memorials may be sent to the church of the donor's choice or to the Gottsche Rehabilitation Center, Riverton.
