Final Rites Held Saturday For George Walker, Pioneer Resident

Prominent Indian Creek Rancher Is Laid To Rest At Harrison As Throngs Gather To Pay Last Respects

Final rites for George Walker, pioneer resident of this community, were held at Harrison, Nebr., Saturday afternoon, attended by throngs of his friends and neighbors from Eastern Wyoming and Nebraska, who gathered to pay their last respects to one of the most prominent men of this county. Mr. Walker was suddenly taken ill last Tuesday and died Wednesday morning from respiratory paralysis resulting from cerebral edema.

In the funeral services, Mr. Walker was praised for being a kind and loving father and husband, as well as being an exceptionally fine man. Every worthy enterprise received his immediate endorsement and full hearted support, and as a builder of finer and better communities he will be sadly missed in Niobrara county.

A male quartet of the Harrison Church sang three hymns. The pallbearers were: Garth Percival, Frank Cross, Charles Seaman, James Bourret, John Marking and Dan Jordan.

Interment was made in the Harrison cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Peet Mortuary.
