Father of Louis Bowen Dies in Colorado March 1
Leroy L. Bowen, a resident of Wheatland for over 50 years died March 1 in Englewood, Colo., where he had lived since his retirement 10 years ago. Mrs. Bowen died 8 years ago.
Mr. Bowen and his wife, Luella, reared seven children on their farm on the Wheatland Flats. They are Mrs. Mary Maul, Aurora, Colo., Mrs. Eileen Cook, Arlo and Joe Bowen, all of Wheatland. Mrs. Charlotte Winburn, Denver, Mrs. Anna Holm, Littleton and Louis J. Bowen, Keeline. Also surviving is his brother Bernard Bowen of Wheatland, 19 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
At the news of Bowen's death, sons, daughter and grandchildren came to Englewood from Texas, New Mexico, California, Wyoming and Colorado. Ten grandsons were the pall bearers at the service.
Burial was in the family plot in the Littleton Cemetery.
