OBITUARY - Mary Cynthia McCamon

Mary Cynthia McCamon was born February 9, 1851 in Hastings County, Canada. She was one of seventeen children.

She moved with her parents to Wyandotte County, Kansas, where she was united in marriage to Henry Harrison Roberts, May 3, 1868, where they resided four years. They then removed to Pottawatomie, Kan., living there two years after which they moved to Marion, Kans.

In the year 1906, they moved to Lusk, Wyo., where she resided until her death, March 29, 1928, at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 20 days.

To this union were born six children; a son born March 2, 1869, died in infancy. Laura Anna was born June 11, 1870 and died March 8, 1883. Four other children survive; George Riley Roberts, of Marion, Kan.; Charles Nathan Roberts, of Las Animas, Colo.; Hattie Harriet Updike, of Lusk, Wyo.; and Mary Isabel Updike, of Osage, Wyo.

The deceased leaves to mourn her loss, four brothers: Charles and Jake McCamon, of Blaine, Wash.; John and Owen McCamon, of Florence, Kan.

Four children, fourteen grandchildren, and nine great grand children.

The deceased has been a devoted Christian all her life, becoming a member of the Methodist church of Florence, Kan.; later transfering her membership to the Congregational church of Lusk, Wyo.

She joined the Rebekah lodge of Lusk on April 20, 1910, becoming an active and faithful worker in this organization.

Her four children were at her bedside when the Death Angel called.
