Basil R. Hipple, 45, of Sheridan passed away on May 2, 2008 in Forsyth, Mont. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Immanual Lutheran Church with Pastor William Heine officiating.
Basil was born on Jan. 7, 1963 in Appleton, Minn. to Dick and Carol Hipple. He graduated from high school and went on to earn his Bachelor's degree at the University of North Dakota. He married Alicia Kupke in Lusk on May 12, 2007. Basil was an engineer for Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railroad. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles.
Basil was a Wyoming lobbyist, and involved in the railroad union as a legislative representative, was a member of Local 951, and was the Associate State Director of the Wyoming State Legislative Board. He was also a member of ABATE of North East Wyoming, the Sheridan County Sportman's Association, the NRA, the Blackflies, and Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Basil is survived by his wife, Alicia of Sheridan; his parents Dick and Carol Hipple of Bismarck, ND; his mother and father-in-law, Gene and Carol Kupke of Lusk; his sister Candy Vogel and her husband, Alan, of Oakes, ND; his brother Chuck Hipple of Lisbon, ND; his sister-in-law, Angela Wasson and her husband, Mike, of Gillette, his brothers-in-law, Mike Kupke of Douglas, and Mark Kupke and his wife Susan, of Lusk; and his nieces and nephews.
Kane Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials may be made in Basil's name to the Martin Luther Grammar School, 1325 Burton, Sheridan, WY 82801.
