"Grandma" Hitz Dies At Home Here Thursday

Mrs. Marie Hitz, affectionately known to a host of friends as "Grandma" Hitz, a resident of Niobrara county for the past nineteen years, passed away at the family home on the Hat Creek road, at 5 o'clock Thursday morning, after an extended illness.

The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the family residence, with the Midwest Undertaking Parlors in charge, interment to be made in the Lusk cemetery. The Rev. S. C. Cadle of the Congregational church will officiate.

Mrs. Hitz was born in Germany in 1853, and was 74 years of age at the time of her death. She came to the United States while quite young, and came to Wyoming from South Dakota at 19 years of age.

She is survived by ten children, four sons and six daughters. The sons are E. A. Hitz, W. H. Hitz, H. C. Hitz and W. D. Hitz, all of Lusk. The daughters are Mrs. S. E. Snyder and Mrs. O. Mauch, of Newcastle; Mrs. C. A. Paisley of Lusk; Miss Minnie Hitz and Miss Margaret Hitz, who lives at home, and Mrs. Emerson Himes of Hat Creek.
