Anna C. Miller
Mrs. Anna Miller Dies at Newcastle
Funeral services were held in Newcastle Tuesday for Mrs. Anna Miller. Mrs. Miller was the widow of the late Sheriff Miller who was killed in an Indian fight in November of 1903.
Sheriff Miller, L. Falkenberg and four Indians were killed when Sheriff Miller and a posse of 12 men undertook the arrest of 24 Indians. The Indians were being charged with a state game law violation as they had killed antelope illegally. At that time the trouble was regarded as "annual Indian trouble."
Mr. and Mrs. R. I. Olinger attended the funeral services in Newcastle Tuesday.
