Rolland E. Dean Dies Here Friday At Age of 63
Rolland Ernest Dean, 63, died at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital on January 12, after being in failing health for several years.
Funeral services were conducted from the Peet Chapel in this city Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. Frank Schweisslng, pastor of the Lusk Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs. A. F. DeCastro and Mrs. Frank Schweissing sang "In the Garden," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset." Organ music was provided by Rex Yocum.
Burial was made in the Lusk Cemetery, with the following acting as pallbearers: Emerson Bonner, Cy Bonner, J. G. McGinnis, Albert Penn, Ted Lohr and Harry Bonner.
Rolland Ernest Dean was born at Fairmont, Nebraska, February 18, 1887, the son of Joe and Etha Dean. At the age of 12 his father died and young Rolland left school to work, thereby helping his mother in the support of the family. At that time he entered the building trade, which became his life work.
In 1913, he was married to Hatt Bough at Fairmont, Nebraska. They were the parents of three sons, Roland Floyd, Edward Eugene and Ernest Herman.
