Mrs. Sue Barnette Dies Here Thursday

Sue Barnette, 65, died on January 11, at the Spencer Hospital in Lusk, after an illness of a year. She had been in the hospital for the past two weeks.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:00 from the Jay Em Community Hall, with the Rev. Robert McCaslin of Torrington in charge. Arrangements were under supervision of Colyer & Colyer, Torrington morticians. Interment was in the Jay Em Cemetery.

Mrs. Barnette was born in Lehigh, Iowa, March 29, 1885, the daughter of James and Cora Shoults. She came as a young woman to Chadron, Neb., and from there to Wyoming in 1900. August 28, 1906, she married Richard Barnette at Cheyenne.

The family first moved to Wheatland and then to Goshen county in 1912 and ranched near Jay Em until Mr. Barnette's death recently. Since then she has lived in Torrington. Mrs. Barnette was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are a son, Richard T. Barnette, who operates the home ranch; two brothers, Edward Shoults of Cheyenne and James A. Shoults of Torrington; and a sister, Mrs. Lottie Booth, Grand Junction, Colo. Four sisters had previously died.
