Richard Hill Killed In War
Richard Hill, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hill of Springville, Utah, was killed April 21 in Vietnam. He had served eleven months overseas and was due to return home in May. Funeral services were being held May 1 at Springville with burial there.
Richard is a nephew of Clyde Hill and Mrs. Dell DeHaven of Harrison. Mrs. Clyde Hill and son Jim and Mrs. DeHaven went to Springville to attend the services.

Last Rites Held for Richard Allen Hill
Funeral rites for Spec. 4 Richard Allen Hill, 19, Springville's first casualty of the Vietnam War who lost his life in action April 22, were held the afternoon of May 1 in Springville State House.
Bishop George Puckett of the Seventh Ward presided over the services. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery with full military rites.
He was born August 24, 1948, in Wheatland, Wyo., second son of Clarence and Bernice Hill. He came to Springville, Utah, with his parents in April 1966. He entered the armed services January 4, 1967, and had been in Vietnam 10 months.
Surviving are his parents and the following brothers and sisters: Steve, David and Clarence of Springville, Dean with the armed forces in Korea, Mrs. Randy (Linda) Hartman of Marina, Calif., and a half brother, Donald Perry of Emmett, Ida. Also surviving are his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elvin A. Cole of Douglas, Wyo.
