Services for Margaret E. Miller, 79, of Newcastle were held Monday October 17, 1988 at McColley Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Gene Hagerman of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial followed in the Boyd Cemetery at Four Corners, WY.
Mrs. Miller died October 14, 1988, at her home in Newcastle following a lengthy illness.
She was born Oct. 15, 1908, in Weston County, WY to Charles and Josie (Gillum) Dohrman. She attended rural schools while living in different parts of Weston County, where her father ran a family sawmill. She graduated from the 8th grade at Rushville, NE.
In 1936 she married John Novak. The couple farmed and operated a sawmill near the Novak ranch north of Four Corners. Her husband was killed by a falling tree in 1944.
She married Edward Miller June 18, 1946. They farmed and ranched until his retirement in 1975. Following their retirement they continued to reside on the family ranch during the summer months, moving into Newcastle during the winter.
She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Joan Pfister of Lusk; two sons, John and Albert Novak of Newcastle; five brothers, George and Bill Dohrman of Tensed, ID, Louis and Charles Dohrman, both of Sunnyside, CA, and Ernest Dohrman of Anchorage, AL; four sisters, Esther Schulze of Newcastle, Thelma Roos of Carlton, WA, Ruth Owen of Salem, OR, and Margie Dohrman of Anchorage, AL; 13 grandchildren; and 18 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, her first husband, one daughter, and one grandson.
Memorials to the Weston County Hospice would be appreciated by the family, and may be directed in care of McColley Funeral Home, Box 627, Newcastle.
