Frances Deaver, 14, Dies of Meningitis

DEATH CLAIMS FRANCES JEAN DEAVER, 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL AT SPENCER HOSPITAL THURSDAY; FINAL RITES ARE MONDAY

Death claimed the life of Frances Jean Deaver, 14-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Deaver of Glenrock, Wyo., in the Spencer Hospital Thursday afternoon, September 7th. The child was brought to this city Wednesday afternoon from Douglas, hoping to cure her illness.
Although everything possible was done to alleviate her suffering, she succumbed to the illness, which, according to the attending physician, was a form of meningitis.

Concluding rites were held in St. Leo's Catholic church of this city, at ten o'clock Monday morning, Sept. 11, with Father Torrence McGovern reading the funeral mass.

Bearing the remains to their final resting place in the Lusk cemetery were Edward Halsey, Richard Oates, Carl Bruch, Henry D. Austin, Joseph Pfister and James E. Barrett.

Frances Jean Deaver was born in Alliance, Nebr., September 23, 1936, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Deaver. She lived with her parents in Nebraska until last year when the family moved to Wyoming, and at the present time making their home in Glenrock. She had enrolled this year in the Glenrock High school.

Surviving the deceased besides her parents are two sisters, Charlene of Aberdeen, So. Dak., and Elnora of Glenrock and two brothers Raymond and Jimmy, both of whom reside with their parents in Glenrock.

Frances Jeanette Deaver, 14, of Glenrock and formerly of Lance Creek, died here at the Spencer Hospital Thursday afternoon after becoming violently ill with meningitis. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Deaver.

Last rites were held from St. Leo's Catholic Church. Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Sunday with Father Boniface of Glenrock officiating. Mass was held for Miss Deaver at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11 with Father McGovern conducting the services.

Music was furnished by Pauline Bruch, Elizabeth Bruch, Mrs. Mary Bruch and Ann Wasserberger.

Burial was made in the Lusk Cemetery with Harry Austin, Richard Oates, Ed Halsey, James Barrett, Leo Pfister and Carl Bruch acting as pallbearers.

Frances Deaver is survived by her parents, James E. and Ethel M. Deaver of Glenrock and two brothers and two sisters. The Deaver family lived in Lance Creek during the war years. They moved to Bairoil and finally settled in Glenrock.
