Henry Lang, 75, Dies Here Friday

Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 2:00 o'clock from the Peet Mortuary for Henry Lange, 75, who died at his home in East Lusk, August 11, being in failing health for the last few years.

The Rev. H. T. Clark officiated at the services, with music by Mrs. DeCastro and Mrs. Emerson Bonner. The duet sang "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross." They were accompanied by Mrs. E. Floyd Deuel on the chapel organ.

Pallbearers were John Irons, Gilbert Bernbeck, Gus Deitchier, Bob Black, Ed Marks, Brent Bruch.

Henry Lange, son of Anton Henry and Gesine Lange, was born in Oldenburg, Germany, May 2, 1875. He came to America in February of 1902, settling near Wisner, Neb., on a farm for several years. He and his cousin, Henry Spinning, worked together, farmed together and lived together for the greater part of their lives. For sbout six years Mr. Lange had a blacksmith shop in Nebraska.

In 1942 he came to Niobrara County, Wyoming, and lived with his cousin, Henry Spinning, in the east part of Lusk. He was brought up in the Lutheran Church in Germany and confirmed in that faith.

Surviving are a first cousin, Henry Spinning, and two second cousins, John and George Hillen of Germany.

Correction

In the obituary of Henry Lange in the August 17 issue an error was made in stating that Henry Spinning and two cousins were from Germany. Mr. Spinning is from Lusk and the two second cousins, John and George Hillen are from Guernsey, Wyo.

Death Claims Henry Lange Friday Afternoon; Concluding Services ARe Sunday; Burial in Lusk Cemetery

Death came suddenly to Henry Lange, resident of this community over forty years, at 4:20 o'clock, Friday afternoon, August 11th, at his home in this city. Although he had been in failing health for the past few years, his demise, which was attributed to mesenteric thrombosis, was very unexpected.

"Henie" as he was affectionately known came to this community in 1908 where he worked on several ranches until 1943 when he with his cousin, Henry Spinning built a home in this city, and where they had lived toether until the time of the deceaased's passing. At the time of his demise, he had attained the age of 75 years, three months and nine days.

Concluding rites were held Sunday afternoon, August 13th, with Rev. Hal T. Clark, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Lusk, officiating.

Adding to the solemnity of the service was the singing of "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden of Thought" by Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Mrs. Ab DeCastro. They were accompanied on the organ by Mrs. E. Floyd Deuel.

Bearing the remains to their final resting place in the Lusk cemetery were Gus Deitchler, Gilbert Bernbeck, Eddie Mark, Brent Bruch, John Iron and Bob Black.

Henry Lange was born May 2, 1875 in Oldenburg, Germany, a son of Anthon and Desine Lange. He resided in Germany working in the brick yards until 1902 when he came to the United States making his home in Wisner, Nebr. In the fall of 1902, the deceased was joined in the country by his mother and cousin, Henry Spinning. In 1908, the group moved to Wyoming to make their home.

Mr. Lange was never married. He was reared and confirmed in the Lutheran fail in Germany.

There remains to mourn his passing, a first cousin, Henry Spinning, of this city , and two second cousins, John and George Hillen of Guernsey, Wyo.

His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.
