Fred J. Heins of Keeline Dies Tues.

Fred J. Heins, 88, of Keeline died at the Lusk Hospital at 7:15 Tuesday morning following a stroke Monday. The last rites will be conducted from the Peet Chapel Saturday afternoon, at 2:OO with the Rev. F.C. Doctor officiating. Mr. Heins was taken to the hospital Monday in the Peet ambulance.

He is survived by his two children, Mrs. Eric Miller and Leo Heins, and one foster daughter, Mrs. Lewis Smith of Indiana. His wife preceded him in death several years ago.

Burial will be made in the Jireh cemetery. The complete obituary will be printed in the next issue of The Lusk Herald.

Funeral Services Held Saturday For Fred Heins

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon, at 2:00 o'clock from the Peet chapel for Fred J. Heins of Keeline, who died Tuesday morning following a stroke. The Rev. F. C. Doctor officiated at the services and burial was made in the Jireh cemetery.

A quartet composed of Emil Klemke, Donley Unruh, Miss Geraldine Klemke and Mrs. Dorothy Porter sang "Asleep in Jesus" and "Just As I Am." Mrs. Minerva Watson presided at the chapel organ.

Pallbearers were Henry Amend, Alex Fosheiser, William Ladwig, Frank Mahnke, Frank Demmer, and James Ringer.

Fred John Heins was born on February 3, 1862, at Huntingburg, Dubois County, Indiana. He was baptized in the Lutheran Church in early infancy and confirmed in 1876.

He was married to Anna Wardelman, July 28, 1887, at New Harmony, Indiana. Their first residence was in Genterville, Ind., and in 1906 moved to Hiawatha, Kan. In 1909 they moved to a homestead three miles southwest of Keeline. He retired from active farming in 1928 and moved to Keeline, where he lived with his children eleven years.

To this union were born five sons and one daughter. Four sons, one grandson and his wife preceded him in death. Survivors include: One son, Leo, of Keeline; one daughter, Leona Miller of Stover, Mo., and one foster daughter, Mrs. Eda Schmitt of Huntingburg, Indiana; also ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two sisters of Huntingburg, Indiana.
