Glenrock Man Killed In Gun Accident
Dale Lampman, of Glenrock, brother-in-law of Mrs. R.C. Bafford, died at 12:40 a.m. last Tuesday from an accidental gunshot
wound. Funeral services were held last Thursday at the Community Church in Glenrock. Mr. and Mrs. Bafford attended the services.
Mr. Lampman was fatally wounded about 9:00 Monday evening when he, Mrs. Lampman and daughter, and several friends were riding about 17 miles north of Glenrock hunting jack rabbits by carlight. Mr. Lampman had gotten out of his car to take a shot and in pulling the rifle from the car it discharged sending the bullet through his temple and into the brain.
He was rushed to Memorial Hospital in Casper where he died a few hours later without regaining consciousness.
Mr. Lampman was born October 2, 1917 at Hamilton, Nebr., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Lampman. The family moved to Glenrock when he was a small child. On May 1, 1939 he was married to Miss Pauline Rainey of Glenrock, sister of Mrs. Bafford.
Surviving besides his wife and daughter, Loretta, are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Lampman; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Hildebrand of Casper and Mrs. Clarence Bishop of Glenrock; and a brother, D.D. Lampman of Sand Draw.
